Call to action by Friends of Langholm War Memorial

Our community has been renowned for being a vibrant and close-knit one, and now we have an opportunity to make it even better. The Friends of Langholm War Memorial and Gardens aims to improve the War Memorial and surrounding gardens all year round supporting the scheduled work of Dumfries and Galloway Council. This is not to take over the maintenance of what is a council responsibility but in the current financial climate as a community we should make sure our War Memorial and gardens are the best they can be.

However, we need hands-on help! Much of the work will be done by a small group but on occasion there will be a call for people to come together to either rake and remove cut grass, sweeping the paths clear or weeding the flower beds. I’m sure you will agree five rakes will do the job five times quicker than one!
