Local entertainers take to the stage to strut their stuff in resurrection of popular talent competition
Langholm was once again the centre of the entertainment world last Saturday when a wealth of stars descended upon Langholm Social Club for a charity ‘Stars in Their Eyes’. Organised to raise money for the Prostate Scotland charity, the event was a sell-out. Langholm’s very own Matthew Kelly (Stevie Ellwood) greeted those
attending with his usual “joie de vivre” and whipped them up into a frenzy.
The Charity night was held in memory of Les “Tucker” Richardson, who succumbed to this terrible illness two years ago, and also to show support for those who are currently going through, or receiving treatment for, Prostate Cancer. This is a terrible illness but one which, if caught early enough, can be managed and a simple blood test is all that is needed.
There were ten acts in total including Dave Grohl of “The Foo Fighters”, Reg Presley of “The Troggs”, Peter Sarstedt, Jack Alexander, Guy Mitchell, Johnnie Rotten, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder and both Gallagher Brothers, Liam and Noel.
