Aoiffion McVittie Brangan wins the Rising Star Award at Melrose Sevens Celebration of Women in Sport
 

Young athlete’s stellar progress wins her an award

At last week’s Melrose Sevens Celebration of Women in Sport Awards, Aoiffion McVittie Brangan was presented with the Rising Star Award.

The awards which were presented by well-known host and speaker, Bruce Aitchison are part of a packed Melrose Sevens weekend programme and shines a spotlight on the incredible achievements of female athletes in the Scottish Borders.

Aoiffion was one of 8 shortlisted young people from a number of nominations aged under 18 years of age. And such was the high standard of nominees, this category alone received over 16,000 votes to determine the winner of this year’s award.
