Langholm Girls FC are toast of Melrose Awards

Melrose Sevens’ Women in Sport Awards vote for LGFC as Team of the Year at inaugural ceremony

On Friday evening, coaches, committee members and players from Langholm Girls Football Club attended the inaugural Melrose Sevens Women in Sport Awards.

The event was promoted as the first award ceremony in the Scottish Borders to celebrate women in sport and an evening to bring together the community and celebrate the region’s inspirational sportswomen.

The event was hosted by well-known rugby supporter and founder of Happiness is Egg Shaped, Bruce Aitchison. It was staged at the Greenyards, home of Melrose Rugby Club, the day before the clubs famous Melrose Sevens event.
