Langholm group excel once more in creating an event to be proud of!
The Muckle Toon proved last Saturday that a lot of effort and community input can put the magic of Christmas back in our Winter-grey town.
With Santa and Mrs Claus setting off in their sleigh at 2pm, led by the pipe band, the procession made its way to Santa’s Grotto in the Eskdale Hotel where loads of kids received a gift from the man himself.
On their way down the High Street, everyone passed the reindeer and donkeys in The Buck Yard with the Eskdale Pony Club, the stalls on the street and the shops full of festive cheer.
After a dry afternoon, as dusk settled over the town, the rain returned a little, but families, friends, and visitors braved the elements for what has become a Winter tradition, Langholm Christmas Lights switch-on. The event is organised by Langholm Christmas Lights Committee, led by Betty Harkness.
