Over 3,500 people attend Langholm’s Big Bang to see a spectacular
fireworks display organised by Langholm Family Events
Thousands of folk enjoyed Langholm’s Big Bang on Sunday night from various vantage points. The Kilngreen was filled with countless people following a huge parade from the market place led by Langholm pipe band. The Police estimated that 3500 people attended the event. The building of the bonfire had taken place on Sunday with a huge home-made guy placed on top before being lit by Molly Henderson once the parade arrived.
Stalls served food and the weather stayed fair for the fireworks which went off with a bang at 7pm accompanied by music old and new. Members of Muckle Toon Events were going round with buckets to collect donations to help pay for the event. The event is partly funded by the Stevenson Trust but also relies on donations and fundraising annually to make it happen.
