Under new rules, racing has to be completed by 2pm

Connections of Five Dollar Fine have their eyes on the £20,000 feature race, staged over nearly 2m 6f, at Kelso on Saturday.
Trained by Northumberland permit-holder Ann Hamilton, the gelding is being aimed at the Paxtons For Kverneland Machinery & Genuine Spares Wishing Well Handicap Chase.
The nine-year-old is owned by Mrs Hamilton’s husband Ian, who said: “He’s had a good season already as he’s won two of his three starts. He was quite
impressive over two miles at Carlisle three weeks ago but he’s equally at home at this longer distance.
“He won at Hexham in the spring and then came third over course and distance on Kelso’s Ladies Day meeting in late May when he was one of the joint favourites. The handicapper raised him by 6lbs for Carlisle and hopefully that won’t stop him going close again.”
The opposition to Five Dollar Fine could include Red Happy and Ned Tanner, who were first and second in the corresponding race twelve months ago for George Bewley and Nick Alexander respectively. With Craig Nichol and Sam Coltherd already booked for the rides, Ewan Whillans-trained Cracking Destiny and Stuart Coltherd’s Selkirk raider Breakdance Kid are two possibles for a competitive-looking event.
