Audrey donates her luscious locks to the Little Princess Trust

A Langholm octogenarian has had her hair chopped for charity. Audrey Maxwell of Kirk Wynd has been growing her hair since 2020 and, inspired by some young relatives, decide to have it cut and donate it to the Little Princess Trust. The trust makes wigs from real hair for young people who have lost their hair due to illness or for other reasons. Audrey started a fundraiser and organised a few friends to come round to witness her being shorn last Friday night. On the night there was a raffle and a few other games to raise more funds. It takes £750 to make one wig and even before the night she had raised that amount

Since going to press, Audrey told the E&L that donations now stand at £1,300.
