Exhibiting a passion for wildlife

Wendy Patterson of Newcastleton is currently exhibiting her paintings in the Welcome to Langholm shop in Langholm’s Market Place.
Wendy runs a popular and award-winning wildlife watch group for youngsters in Liddesdale and says she is inspired by her surroundings.
She specialises in painting animals and wildlife and uses a variety of media to depict these, painting on slate with outdoor enamel paints as well as on canvas with acrylics. The slate paintings can be customised as nameplates for houses.
Her pictures and prints are on sale in the exhibition as well as her cards and tea towels with drawings depicting Scottish and moorland wildlife.
Her two children’s books A Day with Roan Squirrel and A Day with Amber Rabbit are available and these are illustrated with drawings done in colour pencils. Wendy can also do commissions on request.
The exhibition, which runs until the end of May, is well worth a visit. Wendy’s portrayal of animals is very sympathetic.
