Children’s author makes a return to his Copshaw roots

Family collaboration over 4,200 miles leads to potential series of books

When artist Paula Downey and children’s author Ian Rowan decided to collaborate on a creative project there was just one problem. Paula lives in Newcastleton and Ian is in the USA – Florida to be precise.

However they weren’t about to let the minor detail of being separated by around 4,200 miles get in the way of their new
partnership.

Right from the start they had two things going for them – the internet, and the fact that as uncle and niece they already knew and understood each other very well.
