The best ever Common Riding?

af Edgar Kirk Wynd 64 1 THE thundering of the horses’ hooves as 128 riders galloped up the Kirkwynd with Cornet Irving Edgar in the van, holding aloft the town’s standard; the children with their heather besoms, the exhortation of Fair Crier, Mr John Elliot, and the closing scenes in the densely packed Market Place are now a memory.
