Community Council to chair event where you can have your say on what needs to be done about the increasing number of derelict sites
Langholm, Ewes, and Westerkirk Community Council is urging as many residents as possible to attend the town meeting next Monday 02 June, at 7pm in the Buccleuch Centre.
Emma Harper MSP, Oliver Mundell MSP, and Colin Smyth MSP will be in attendance, along with the Leader of Dumfries and Galloway Council, Councillor Gail Macgregor, and Councillor Denis Male. Representatives from Wheatley Homes South, the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Department, and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) will also be present.
The meeting has been organised by the Community Council, and Dave McVittie, following Dave’s social media post earlier this year regarding the state of Langholm. In his social media post Dave said:
“Wee opportunity for someone; derelict tours o the Muckle Toon; start off at the Murth’um field, pointing out where hooses were going to be built, before heading up to see the abandoned EWM building.
