All roads lead to Milntown on Saturday for the 2024 Langholm Sevens.
By Kenneth Pool
With the usual Border teams on show plus Heriots, Watsonians and Edinburgh Accies from the capital, there should be plenty of good Sevens rugby to keep the supporters happy. Unfortunately, Hawick RFC have had to withdraw as they are playing in the Scottish Cup final at Murrayfield.
The tournament will be played on a pool basis with four pools of three teams competing for the Scott Cup. These are:
Pool A: Peebles. Gala and Berwick.
Pool B: Selkirk, Kelso, Watsonians,
Pool C: Heriots. Jedforest, Edinburgh Accies and
Pool D: Langholm. Melrose and President’s 7.
Having endured weeks of rain, it’s hoped the weather will be kinder on Saturday. The pitch is in excellent condition, and everything is set for a great afternoon. The bar will be open, hot food available and of course the famous After Sevens Karaoke will be on after the final.
First tie 2pm. Admission is £10. concessions £5 and 16 and under free.
Hope to see you there.
