Langholm Girls 14s 4 | Galloway Thistle 14s 1
By Calum Graham
Last Sunday, Langholm Girls U14s played their last grading game before a three-week Easter break.
The girls were looking to bounce back following last week’s Scottish Cup defeat against Dumbarton but went behind to an early Galloway Thistle goal. This seemed to spark our girls into life as they upped the tempo and started playing the ball around the pitch.
They were soon on level terms when a pass from Aoiffion put Tia clean through who finished well, leaving the keeper with no chance. Shortly after, following good build up play by Layna and Holly, Langholm were 2-1 ahead through Aylee, who side stepped her defender and scored with a shot from the edge of the box going in via the underside of the bar.
Curling shot
Langholm were soon 4-1 ahead with two goals from Antonia. The first, a curling shot from 15yds out off the inside of the post, and the second goal, a good finish after breaking clear of the Thistle defence.
