Another robust performance by LRFC on home soil this time
By Kenneth Pool | Langholm 52 – Forresters 18
Following their excellent win over Haddington RFC the previous week, Langholm were keen to build on their success when they faced Forresters RFC at Milntown on Saturday.
Played in mainly dry conditions and with the pitch firm underfoot, there was a good opportunity for some running rugby, and this proved to be the case.
Langholm started well and were keen to move the ball, but a mistake led to a loose ball and a try for Forresters after only three minutes. This galvanised the home side into a series of attacks which led to “Sally” Cavers crashing over the line good try after seven minutes. Bailey Donaldson made sure of the conversion. Langholm continued to put pressure on the visitors who were finding it difficult to win much ball. Winger Jamie Gormley found some space and his pace made sure of another well worked try after just 15 minutes played.
