25 years:£420 boost for summer outing


Around £420 was raised towards the summer outing for the elderly with a coffee morning in the Mission Hall on Saturday.

The event was organised by the Langholm branch of Age Concern and Secretary Sheila Calvert said later; “The committee of Age Concern would like to thank everyone who either gave donations or helped at the coffee morning which was a great success. The sum of £420 was realised.”

Raffle winners were – Hamper, Betty Borthwick; wine Nan Irving, Windsor Greenwood, Helen Fisher, May Harkness; Easter eggs, Mrs Dickson, Molly Milligan; skirt length K Bell; chocolates Kathy Robinson, Jean Goodfellow, Elaine Anderson; juice container Peg Hotson; flowers Daisy Hatfield; fruit Sheila Calvert; shortbread Lena Little; “smellies” Betty Cairns; drawer liners Margaret Wilkinson; mini Easter eggs Dorothy Irving ; Matchmakers Jean McVittie; Quality Street Nancy Barnfather; passion fruit fizz Peg Hotson; biscuits May Young and Jean Herbertson.
