Athletics
LANGHOLM and Canonbie primary schools competed at Annandale and Eskdale primary schools Sportshall Athletics finals in Moffat last Friday.
In the large schools’ event, which attracted six entries, Langholm were third behind Moffat and Newington.
The Annan school now progresses to the West of Scotland final in Ravenscraig on February 28.
Canonbie was one of 10 small school teams, some of which were partnership teams.
Applegarth/Hutton finished third, St Columba’s was second and the winner was

Carrutherstown and Cummertrees.
Many thanks to Moffat Academy for hosting the event, the young sports leaders from secondary schools and volunteers from ADAC.
Thanks also to Run, Jump and Throw in Moffat for helping deliver the event, the schools and teachers for their continued support and Magnox Ltd which has sponsored the school sport calendar for 12 years.
The winners and runners-up were presented with their prizes by Ewan McDonald, environment, health and safety, security and quality manager at Chapelcross.
