Karate
WORLD Traditional Karate Organisation karateka from Langholm, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow attended the WTKO Ireland open karate championships at the Carrigaline Hotel in Cork, Ireland last Saturday.
It was a very well-organised event with a very high standard of karate from everyone who participated.
Langholm karate club members came home with a number of medals.:
Sarah Mann won silver in the senior women’s kumite and bronze in the senior women’s kata.
Mungo Mann scooped bronze in the junior kumite and Aaron Mahoney picked up the bronze in the senior male kumite.
James Kay competed in the junior kata and won a silver medal.
Sharron Harkness and Philip Gunn officiated at the event.
Philip said: “All the Scottish clubs performed well, winning gold in a few events.”
