Annan U14 23
Langholm U14 24
LANGHOLM were out to do the double on their neighbour but after three minutes, they were four points down after an Annan try and conversion.
This inspired the lads to retain the ball and open up the back line which resulted in a Danny Tait try, converted by Brady Wilson.
With the Langholm tails up, a second try was not far away through hard running by Connor Thompson.
Annan hit back with a converted try but it was end to end stuff from both teams.
George Wright’s dancing feet produced another score but back came the home team with a try on the half hour. Thompson
added to his tally but Annan came right back.
This wasn’t a night for the kickers because the wind was up but tries aplenty came from Fergus Bell and Tait and were matched by the home team.
When Langholm attacked, it was great rugby. A spill by an
Annan back was pounced on and Ryan Wood took full advantage and scored. Wilson converted.
Annan were not done and scored in the last play to make it a kick to earn a draw but, as the kicker took his run, the ball fell and he couldn’t do anything and the ref blew for a Langholm win.
All the boys played their part and gave their all for the crimson jersey; a good end to the season for the U14s.
