Fell Racing

A CRACKING fell race was had during the Castle Craigs ride-out last Saturday.
Cornet Henry Jeffrey sent the runners on their way from Castle Craigs and they hared off through the heather and bracken, which was shoulder high, heading for Cronksbank.
The winner of the race was Ben Jardine, 15, who admitted that he didn’t do very much running but enjoyed his rugby.
During the refreshment stop Cornet Jeffrey presented the fell race cup and £50 to Ben.
In second place was Danny Hotson, while in third was Ryan Wood.
