Nicole ‘very busy’ as her long-awaited new café opens in the Market Place

It’s always great news when a new business opens up on Langholm High Street, and the recently opened First Bite in the Market Place will put a smile on everyone’s face.

Nicole Beattie, the popular owner of Beattie’s Bakes, has been looking forward to her new premises for some time now, saying ‘it’s been hard work and a long haul, but the end result is well worth it’.

The Stevenson Trust, who owns the premises, has carried out a complete refurbishment of the tired old insides to provide a bright, modern, well-designed   interior, more than fit for purpose. Gillian McCartney of The Stevenson Trust told the E&L “Bearing in mind the original shop was built nearly 200 years ago, the refurbishment of 70 High Street was a bigger undertaking than any of us could have imagined…
