16-year-old Callum
Jeffrey from Langholm travelled to Selkirk Golf Club last weekend to compete in the Borders Golf Association Championships.
Callum who was a recipient of “Welcome to Langholm” Future Champions Award Funding in 2019 produced a fantastic round of golf to win the Under 16’s Championship with a Net 72 score in difficult conditions.
Callum is the first young golfer from Langholm Golf Club to win the championship since 1989.
Callum was to play in the Bill McLaren Invitation on Friday 9th August but it was cancelled due to weather.
He was also been invited to play in an event to celebrate 30 years of coaching by golf professional, Frankie Scott on Saturday 10th at Ashkirk but this too had to be cancelled.
Finally, he has been selected to represent the Borders boys’ team in the Scottish Team Championships in September at Scoonie Golf Club in Leven.
