FRESH from winning the Annandale and Eskdale primary schools cross country championships in Lochmaben and the primary schools Super 4s race series, Ashton McKinnel of Langholm competed in the Scottish primary schools cross country championships.
Ashton, 12, was up against a strong field of 140 P7 boys at the event in Kirkcaldy.
He ran a fantastic race, maintaining a place at the front of the field and finished in an excellent 13th position.
