Cornet Ewan Patterson carried out his duties last Friday in a calm, unassuming manner and was a credit to his family and to Langholm.
From the minute he collected the flag, supported by his Right and Left-hand Men to the handing in of the flag Ewan seemed to enjoy every minute and led the cavalcade
with a smile on his face.
The crowd was enormous on the day and even with the early start, Langholm Common Riding seems to attract more and more people from a’ the airts.
What a day! The morning parades were completed without a drop of rain and it wasn’t too hot with a breeze on the hill to keep the horses and riders
cool.
And of course, it was the best Common Riding ever!
