A BRILLIANT performance with the ball and in the field from a young bowling attack secured a six-wicket win for the 2nds team.
They bowled out Carlisle for only 56.
After losing the toss and being sent out to field, Langholm started brightly. Bailey Donaldson took three wickets in his first three overs.
In his first he clean-bowled Du Plessis for 2. He then had McLindon bowled after clipping his pads for 0.
In the fifth over skipper Nicky P took a sharp catch in the slips to dismiss Reeves on 1.
In the next over Ryan Johnstone claimed a deserved wicket for his pressure from the other end, bowling Currie for 2.
With the score 11-4, Aidan Wilson was brought on for Bailey and in his first over he bowled Butcher for 2.
Teasdale and Wilson looked to rebuild and started to look a solid partnership until Wilson was forced to retire hurt after going awkwardly over on his knee while batting.
With another change of bowling came another wicket. Corey Park got Teasdale edging onto his stumps. A few overs later Park struck again when Crawford spooned an easy chance to Dave Steele at gully, bringing the score to 33-7.
After another rally by Carlisle, Jaime Ashton Smith came back into the attack and removed Graham for 3 with the score 54-8.
Wilson came back in with a runner and he lasted two overs before swiping at a wide one from Aidan right to Nicky. In the same over Aidan took his third wicket, bowling Barker. Carlisle finished on 56 all out.
Bailey Donaldson had 3-6, Aidan Wilson 3-9, Corey Park 2-3, Ryan Johnstone 1-4, and Jaime Ashton Smith 1-11.

Langholm started well with the bat, despite the rain. Some good running by John Bell and Hughie Donaldson took the score to 17 before Hughie was out lbw to Barker for 5.
In the next over Bell went for 13 after one nipped back in from Tiffen. Bailey joined Jaime and the pair moved on the score quickly, scoring 22 runs in three overs before being forced off by the rain with the score at 40-2 from 10 overs.
When play resumed, Langholm lost two wickets in the next two balls. New bowler Graham had Jaime bowled for 11 followed immediately by Jay Gordon.
Aidan joined Bailey and after a nervy couple of overs getting used to the new conditions, they saw off the 17 runs needed with a few big boundaries. Bailey finished on 18 and Aidan on 6 with the score 58-4 after 16 overs.
This was an amazing performance from a young team with only 10 men and everyone contributed to the game.
