Manager Sandra Graham pulls out all the stops to negotiate increased funding for next three years
Langholm Day Centre is delighted to announce that it has been awarded 3-year funding by Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Health and Social Care Partnership of over £83,000 annually. Although this grant will not cover wages and other core costs it is vital for the continuation of the services provided at Langholm Day Centre.
Earlier this year the day centre was asked to apply for the funding using a new application form which was not straightforward. The day centre was asked to identify how else it would raise funding and all-Day Centres across Dumfries and Galloway were under the impression that their funding would be cut.
Sandra Graham, Langholm Day Centre manager was expecting to have to attend an interview and go through the application with NHS/Council staff. As time was marching on and no funding announcement had been made the Day Centre Board of Directors were anxious to find out what was happening.
