Fond farewell to self-taught musician from Newcastleton
The traditional music community lost one of its best-loved members on Christmas Day, with the death of Roger Dobson at the age of 83.
Roger was born in Haltwhistle to a farming family but his love of music began at an early age when he was allowed to play a tune on a top-class accordion belonging to legendary Scottish musician Jimmy Shand.
