Optimism over hospital’s future after NHS meeting
The New Year could herald new hope for the future of Langholm’s precious cottage hospital.
Vital community services at the Thomas Hope have been steadily eroded in recent months, with patients requiring podiatry, physiotherapy and other treatments having to travel as far as Annan and Dumfries to see a specialist.
Following a meeting this week, however, Dumfries & Galloway health officials say they understand the concerns of residents and have promised a raft of possible solutions in January.
