Work on housing and bridge project now on ice until June
Work on the stalled Murtholm housing development in Langholm is now unlikely to resume until next month.
Phase One of the proposed 200-home scheme came to a sudden halt earlier this month, with groundwork contractors Cubby moving their heavy plant from the site.
According to developers Loreburn, the problem was down to a dispute over access rights with neighbouring landowners. But a spokesman told the E&L that the issues were close to being resolved and operations would recommence on or around May 22.
However the date came and went this week with no sign of work restarting on 35 extra care bungalows and a new footbridge across the Esk.
