Council slammed over response to Erskine eyesore petition
Council bosses have been accused of “insulting” Langholm residents concerned about the state of the Erskine Church.
A succession of owners has allowed the 155-year-old building, once a proud landmark in the town, to fall into disrepair, to the extent that it is now regarded as an eyesore dominating the skyline.
Scaffolding erected nearly 20 years ago is still in place, and people living in the vicinity have regularly complained of falling tiles and masonry tumbling loose in high winds.
