HAUD YER NOSE: Leaping into Ullswater from the dinghy

Langholm S6 pupils enjoy a week of outdoor antics and overcoming fears

Langholm’s S6 pupils set out on their annual outward bound trip to Ullswater recently.
The E&L caught up with them before they went and when the excitement was paplable. The reality didn’t disappoint.
S6 pupil Payton Irving said: “We all had a great week in Ullswater, filled with loads of fun activities. On the first day many of us tackled a range of
obstacles with our groups such as the jog and dip, orienteering and helping each other climb the wall.
“On the second day we went out gorge walking, which was a new experience for many of us, despite it being challenging and we all worked together and made it to the top.

Wonderful Winmarleigh

Not to be outdone by S6, Langholm and Canonbie P7 pupils also headed for the great outdoors at the end of September this time to Lancashire and the Winmarleigh Hall Adventure Centre near Preston.
Primary Head Teacher, Mrs Vidler, who accompanied the pupils on the trip told the E&L “It was wonderful to see the resilience of the children on some of the more challenging activities and to see them bonding, working as a team and supporting each other. Altogether it was a marvellous trip”
