Both the Langholm Primary and Secondary schools and the Xcel Project paid very moving tributes to the Lewis Chapman this week. Lewis was killed tragically in a car accident in December. They said:
“We are thinking of former pupil Lewis Chapman’s family today (Monday) as he is laid to rest. Lewis was an incredible musician who brought a smile to so many faces in our school community and we are saddened by his loss. He will forever be remembered fondly by our staff, and we will honour his memory with an ‘Outstanding Musician Award’ at our celebration awards yearly.”
The Xcel Project also said their thoughts were with Lewis’ family and went on to say
“Lewis was a delightful young man. We got to know him really well during our ‘Why try?’ project which he was a very important part of. The project finished with a two-day residential and Lewis enjoyed all the challenges that came during the residential and was a great support to the other young people on the project. Lewis lived his life with a smile on his face and kindness in his heart and that is how we will remember him. Gone too soon but never forgotten.”
