Revised centre plans to be presented to the public

Meeting will inform about sports centre latest after development rethink

The team behind Langholm’s proposed new sports centre say they now hope to make positive progress on the development in the next few months.

Plans for the Townfoot centre were first completed in March 2021, 18 months years after existing facilities run by Edinburgh Woollen Mill were closed to the public.

Led by the Langholm Initiative, in collaboration with the site’s owners Ashleybank Investments, the ambition is to “develop and operate a first-class modern community-led sports centre, which will be embraced by local people, and will benefit general wellbeing and welfare in wider Langholm and Eskdale”.
