A TEAM from Langholm primary school competed in the district final of the Rotary quiz in Carluke Lifestyles Centre.
Having qualified at the regional finals, the team travelled to Carluke to compete in a strong field with 10 other regional winners.
The top three teams would go on to compete in the Scottish finals at Stirling University. Questions in the eight-round quiz included sections on science and technology, expressive arts and Scotland and its people.
The questions did not fall Langholm’s way and they narrowly missed out with a score of 37.5 points from a possible 48. New Abbey, Echline in Edinburgh and Priorsford in Peebles progressed to the next stage.
Langholm gave an excellent account of themselves and should be very proud of their achievement. The team representing Langholm Rotary Club were Leah Murray, Will Archibald, Lewis Mackenzie and Max Winter.
