TWO Langholm Academy pupils have been voted onto the first Dumfries and Galloway Youth Council.
Cameron Greer (S3) and Aeryn Mack (S4) heard the result at an event in Dumfries on Monday.
Aeryn said: “I am relieved, excited and nervous but looking forward to the chance to make a difference in my community.”
Mum Anne said: “Andy and I are incredibly proud of Aeryn and feel it is a brilliant opportunity.”
Cameron said: “I’m surprised and proud of myself and I’m sure it will be a good and rewarding experience. I look forward to voicing people’s ideas and suggestions in my region.”
Cameron’s parents Catherine and Lindsay and wider family said: “We are really proud of him and look forward to supporting him over the next two years during his journey as a youth councillor.”
