Sightings of ‘Britain’s most dangerous plant’ in Langholm
Dog-walkers have been put on high alert after reports of potentially lethal hogweed growing in Langholm.
And, with the summer holidays upon us, parents have also been warned not to let children near what has been dubbed “Britain’s most dangerous plant”.
Although not native to Scotland, giant hogweed has been spreading rapidly throughout the country this year, mostly alongside riverbanks, on waste ground and beside roads and train tracks.
