Public digs deep after thieves strike at cricket club

Kind-hearted folk have rallied round Langholm’s cricketers after thieves broke into their clubhouse and made off with nearly £3,500.
The raid last week left the club in crisis, as the uninsured cash was earmarked to stock the bar for this week’s Common Riding – the biggest moneyspinner of the year at The Castleholm.
But within 24 hours of an online crowdfunding campaign being launched, more than half of the missing funds had been recouped – with the target expected to be smashed by the end of this week.
