THE Liddesdale Hotel in Newcastleton has won a second gold medal at this year’s Best Bar None Scotland awards.
The hotel previously won two silver awards followed by its first gold last year.
The hotel is managed byTomasz Milkowski who was presented with the award by John Greenwell, chairman of the Scottish Borders licensing board, at a ceremony in the Buccleuch Arms Hotel in St Boswells.
Representatives from a total of 18 licensed premises were presented with their awards.
Bars from all over the region were recognised for their commitment to a safer and more secure environment for the public.
The awards are split into three levels: gold, silver and bronze, depending on how well a premises met the Best Bar None criteria.
The Liddesdale Hotel implements all the regulations covering customer safety and preventing any nuisance or harm. It also does staff training.
It enables customers to enjoy their night and their experience of the place. It is also a quiet, friendly place for families.”
The awards are supported by the Scottish government, Scottish Borders Council, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Councillor Greenwell said: “It’s really reassuring to see bars taking customer care and safety seriously, which is what Best Bar None is all about. I congratulate all our worthy winners.”
