WORD is getting around about a new breakfast menu at the Buccleuch Centre in Langholm.
A full English breakfast from Tracey Goodfellow of Castleview Catering is now available from 9.30am to 11am.
The centre is extending its coffee shop opening hours from 9.30am to 2.30pm, initially for the spring/summer and hopes to continue this throughout the year, depending on demand.
After the breakfast menu is finished, the lunch menu is available from 11.30am to 2pm. Coffees and cakes are available during these time periods. Afternoon tea can be booked for the coffee shop hours.
Michele Lowe, joint manager, said: “The centre coffee shop is a great, open, inviting space to meet family and friends, relax and have a catch-up.
“It is fully accessible for wheelchairs, prams and buggies and we have a play corner for the younger children.
“We also offer areas for groups to meet and enjoy a lunch together or private meeting spaces for more corporate events.
“We cater for birthday parties, christenings, funeral teas and weddings.
“We regularly have local walking groups pop in after their walks for a well-earned cuppa and a treat.”
Enjoying the daily breakfast special featured on the specials board last Friday were Kate Turk and Adrienne Maxwell.
Kate had the Buccleuch Breakfast, a full English, which included Orkney black pudding. Kate said: “It’s delicious.”
Adrienne Maxwell opted for bacon, egg, sausage and hash brown with a small jug of maple syrup on the side.
She said: “The syrup gives it an American flavour which is very nice. We hope to make a return visit soon.”
Tracey said: “It was slow to start but I hope that when word gets around, I’ll see an increase in trade.”
