STERLING work in the respiratory field by Newcastleton Health Centre’s pharmacist has been recognised with a prestigious national award.
In a glittering ceremony staged by the Scottish Pharmacy Awards in Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Libby Kennedy was presented with the respiratory project of the year award, sponsored by Teva UK Respiratory.
Libby had been up against stiff competition but the judges said she was a clear frontrunner.
In their feedback they said: “She is an inspiring pharmacist, working at the very heart of her community.
“Her care and compassion for her patients is impeccable and the clinical outcomes she has achieved speak for themselves.
“Libby’s application demonstrated high-quality person-centred pharmaceutical care and a focus on education, research and preventative medicine.”
The annual event is held in high esteem within the industry as a benchmark of brilliance and invites entries from a wide spectrum, with categories ranging from hospital pharmacy team of the year to management of substance misuse in the community.
Libby said: “I’m amazed and honoured to receive the award.”
