AMBER Foster and Aidan Elliot, the junior road safety officers at Newcastleton primary school, proudly show off the shield they received at the Active School Travel awards ceremony at Scottish Borders Council.
They represented the school well and all the children and their families, who walk or park and stride regularly, got a big well done.
Pupils and staff work closely with the Safer Routes to School team and police officers, promoting different forms of active travel and highlighting road safety concerns.
The winners are decided using information from the National School Travel Hands Up survey, in which every nursery and school in Scotland is surveyed on its travel mode to school.
Ten schools were presented with shields for having the highest percentage of pupils who walk, cycle, scooter or park and stride.
