Feedback welcome in our quest to keep the ‘Langholm Paper’ alive
Most local newspapers and media across Scotland find it financially challenging to keep going and yet believe that local news is a key part of our social infrastructure and vital to a healthy community. Trusted local information can connect and support communities and without it, misinformation can fill the vacuum and that is what is often happening through social media which offers everyone a platform.
At the Eskdale & Liddesdale Advertiser we recognise that in many matters we can guide people to services and provide valued information for our readers. We can keep people informed about community matters and, by publishing contributions from people who live in the area, enable the community to own their narratives. We can also champion our communities, which still offer positive places to live despite the sometimes-negative narratives we see elswhere.
