TINNISBURN Plants near Harelaw opened its gates over the bank holiday weekend and invited visitors to enjoy cake and refreshments in the barn to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The total raised over the weekend is more than £600 which includes the group bookings either side of the weekend.
Helen Knowles, who runs the nursery with help from her family, was on hand to answer questions from the public during the weekend.
The nursery specialises in choice and unusual alpines and perennials which are truly hardy, particularly species from the Himalayas. Specialities include meconopsis, epimedium primula and iris.
Tinnisburn is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2pm to 6pm, Easter to September. Groups are welcome by appointment by contacting Helen on 013873 71453.
