Legion crashed out of the South Cup at the weekend, overwhelmed by a far superior Hawick side. But with league survival foremost on their to-do list, the defeat could well be a blessing in disguise.

And Saturday’s match did provide a much-needed ray of light, with the appearance on the team sheet of Craig Cuthbert, who became only the ninth player in the club’s 28-year history to appear in 250 matches.
