The 125th Canonbie Show

The 125th Annual Canonbie Flower show and Vintage Show took place on Saturday despite storm Betty’s best attempts to blow everything away.
There were 850 entries across the many different classes with the children’s entries being up by 140 mainly due to the poor weather during the summer holidays.  Some new exhibitors this year won cups which was great to see.

The vintage display returned for 2023 and was a huge success with over 80 exhibits.  All categories were sponsored by local businesses and the overall winner of the Peter Hannah Memorial Cup for Best Overall Vintage Exhibit was awarded to J N Forster, Carlisle for a Blackstone J Stationary Engine.

There were numerous craft stalls, floats, fancy dress, and the tug o’ war competition saw 10 teams compete for the cup.
