Stevie is club champ



LANGHOLM New Town Bowling Club hosted its presentation of prizes night for the 2019 season in Langholm Social Club last Saturday.
Twenty-four people attended and members received prizes from Paul Mitchell, vice-president, who stood in for Roddy Innes, president, who was on holiday.
Prizewinners: club champion Steven Barker; runner-up Alan Warwick. Douglas cup Scott Morrison; runner-up Paul Mitchell. President’s prize Duncan Ritchie; runner-up Paul Warwick. Bell plate Nancy McLure; runner-up Carolle Warwick. Whitehouse cup Avril Grieve; runner-up Carolle Warwick. Mixed pairs Duncan Ritchie and Rob Barnfather; runners-up Paul Warwick and Paul Mitchell. Henry Graham
pairs Carolle Warwick and Scott Morrison; runners-up Paul Warwick and Roddy Innes. Mary McKone pairs Duncan Ritchie and Scott Morrison; runners-up Ian Scott and Roddy Innes. Senior champion David Reid; runner-up Robert Warwick. Junior champion Ryan Johnstone; runner up Jake Park.
Jumble points prizewinners: 1 Ian Scott; 2 Duncan; 3 Paul; 4 Lawson; 5 Robert; 6 Roddy; 7 Carolle. Lucky dip Kenny.
This was another great year for the club. The biggest achievement by far was Paul Warwick winning the 2019 Borders singles championship.
Duncan Ritchie and Ian Scott earned a place in the semi-final of the Borders pairs.
For a small club, it leaves its mark on the Borders and hopes to continue these successes next year.
