NHS Dumfries and Galloway executives attend first of hopefully many meetings
Langholm, Ewes and Westerkirk Community Council invited representatives of NHS Dumfries & Galloway to their meeting on Monday evening to present them with the 1,000 signature petition protesting the loss of healthcare services at the Thomas Hope Hospital in Langholm.
Around a dozen members of the public were in attendance for the open forum and were by no means hesitant at expressing their concerns to Stephanie Mottram, General Manager Community Health & Social Care Directorate and David Rowland, Director of Strategic Planning and Transformation at NHS Dumfries & Galloway.
The guests explained their roles within the organisation and went on to explain that, since the pandemic, finances and manpower within the NHS were proving extremely challenging.
The meeting understood this but did not see why it always seemed to be Langholm that suffered.
