Langholm’s Left-Hand Man, Henry Jeffrey is renowned for his longer than usual tenure in the Front Three.
He was elected Langholm Cornet in May 2019 but due to the Covid outbreak and the resultant curtailed Common Ridings, Henry served as Right Hand Man in 2022 and completed his role on Friday past
.
Renowned also, for his impressive facial hair which grew with him, there are many photographs of Henry with his beard flowing in the wind as he galloped along in the
various events.
Now, Henry has decided to have a trim and raise some money for charity at the same time.
The Anthony Nolan Trust which is the charity that makes lifesaving connections between patients in need and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells.
For someone with blood cancer or a blood disorder, a stem cell transplant from a matching donor could be their last chance of
survival.
Henry set out to raise £500 but has now topped £3000. What a great effort.
