Manager pays heartfelt thanks to trustees, staff volunteers and almost 100 members
Langholm Day Centre for Older People held its Annual General Meeting on 23rd January. A full presentation on the year’s activities was given outlining issues such as funding and risk assessments and some of the challenging the decisions that have had to be made. The day centre has been in discussions with senior NHS staff about health and social care issues, concluding that these are complex and that there are no easy answers.
The dementia help group met in the day centre regularly in 2023 supporting both carers and people with dementia. It has been well attended and has provided significant support for people in the area.
A day centre choir has started and some members have been enjoying participating in walking tennis at Canonbie.
Longstanding team member Catherine Lithgow moved on after giving fifteen years’ service to the day centre which was greatly appreciated. Langholm woman Debbie Wilson was welcomed as a new member of the team.
