Soft-going helps Volare to a win

LANGHOLM trainer Tony Irving made it three in a row in the prestigious Tradesman’s Handicap at Hawick Moor last Friday when winning with Volare, which also took the honours in 2010.

Owned and trained by Tony and his wife Lorna, the powerful Volare, right, ridden by Greg Fairley, revelled in the soft going and led from start to finish to win by a good-looking three lengths, having been backed in from 4-1 to even money.
